Bollywood News: Veteran Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan said he had been discharged from hospital and was recuperating at home after undergoing surgery twice for an abdominal problem.

“Am back home in familiar surroundings, gently taking in all that now engulfs me,” the 69-year-old actor wrote on his blog after leaving the Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai, the city home to the Bollywood film industry.

“The surgery discomfort and soreness persists, but will take a while to finally erase itself from the pain glands,” he wrote, adding that “God’s grace and prayers of the extended family have put me back on track again.”

Amitabh Bachchan, who continues to act in several films every year, was admitted to hospital earlier this month after complaining of abdominal pain, sparking worries about his health among his millions of adoring fans. The actor spent weeks in hospital in 2005, including one in intensive care, after bowel surgery.

The lanky star nearly died following an accident on the set of the 1982 film “Coolie” where he ruptured his spleen during a fight scene.

Fans held vigils outside his hospital and made offerings at temples and mosques as they prayed for his recovery at the time.

“The Big B”, as he is commonly known, is treated like royalty in movie-mad India and is the father of Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan, who is married to former Miss World Aishwarya Rai.

Amitabh Bachchan was the first Indian actor to feature at London’s Madame Tussauds waxworks museum and was voted “actor of the millennium” in a BBC online poll in 1999.

Salman Khan bags Rs 7 crore endorsement deal

Bollywood News: Rather than just earning moolahs in Bollywood Movies, Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan seems to have leapfrogged to becoming one of the highest paid stars in the endorsement space as well. The Dabangg Khan who otherwise is known to do very few endorsements has now apparently bagged a 7-crore deal to become the face of a food supplement.

Cricketer Yuvraj Singh initially endorsed the brand and clearly Salman is being paid more than double of what Yuvi was. Says a source, “There is no doubt that Salman has charged a bomb for this brand. They were very keen on bringing him on board. It was a lucrative deal.”

Salman Khan who otherwise charges between Rs 3-4 crore per endorsement deal (for a year) suddenly upped his rates for this one. Adds the source, “His market value is bigger than any other star at this point. However a lot of family brands do not prefer Salman Khan because of his past reputation. Salman Khan too does not really invest too much time and energy into endorsements.

However, a food supplement goes perfectly with his image and personality. Bollywood Actor Aamir Khan however still remains the highest paid star as far as endorsements deals go.

Bollywood News: Putting all the speculations, doing rounds about his daughter’s name to rest, Bollywood Actor Abhishek Bachchan has finally confirmed that they have finalized a name for their adorable daughter. Before you start guessing again, lets confirm you that the name ‘Aaliya’ isnt the chosen one by the actor

"We've got a name, and I'll announce it very soon, but in terms of releasing a photograph you know I… if people see her in everyday life that's fine by me, but I just think releasing the photograph is a very pompous thing to do. We don't believe in any ceremony in terms of naamkaran," Abhishek told while attending a public forum as a guest speaker.

According to the sources close to the Bachchan Family, the family will announce the name after Amitabh Bachchan returns home from hospital. Beti B also paid a visit to dadu Amitabh at Seven Hills Hospital with mum Aishwarya Rai Bachchan few days back.
